Masterbatch

A masterbatch is a highly concentrated mixture of pigments, additives, or both, blended with a carrier resin (like polyethylene or polypropylene). It's used in plastic manufacturing to add color, modify properties, or both, to the final plastic product. Think of it as a pre-mixed concentrate that's added to the raw plastic resin during processing.

Concentrated Mixture
Masterbatches are designed to have a high concentration of pigments or additives within the carrier resin.

Carrier Resin
The carrier resin is typically a polymer like PE or PP, which helps to disperse the pigments and additives throughout the plastic.

Addition to Plastics
Masterbatches are added to the raw plastic resin during processing (like extrusion or injection molding) to impart color, modify properties, or both.
